Where to Eat in Haarlem

This page is a work in progress so for now here’s just a simple list:

Eat-in Restaurants

  • Brick
This place has really excellent reviews!!
They only display a lunch menu on their website and there are a couple of vegetarian options on that. Assuming they also have vegetarian options on their dinner menu.
  • Le Petit Café
This place has great reviews. Their menu shows only a couple of not-so-great vegetarian options e.g. cheese salad for dinner.
  • Oliver’s Soul Kitchen
This place has great reviews. Their menu shows only a couple of not-so-great vegetarian options e.g. one cauliflower dish for main dinner course.
  • Cô Tâm (Vietnamese)
They have quite a few vegetarian options including tofu dishes.
  • Metzo
They have a couple of vegetarian options on the menu.
  • Piccolo
This place is apparently the best place for fresh, authentic Italian pizza and it has had rave reviews for years.
  • The Harlem Social Club
Apparently very good tapas and they also have fresh oysters for EUR 1.50 per oyster every Sunday (Asian streetfood)
  • Bambu (Asian streetfood)
They have quite a few vegetarian options.

  • Fishbar Monk
No vegetarian options at all at this fish restaurant.
  • Erawan (Thai)
Lots of vegetarian options at this Thai restaurant.
  • De Lachende Javaan (Indonesian)
There are quite a few vegetarian options on this menu. I haven’t been there personally but I just spotted Jackfruit Rendang which is surely worth a try!
  • Peper & Zout (Turkish)
This place has excellent food and service. It’s in Haarlem north, outside the city center. There are lots of vegetarian dishes on the menu.
  • Nancy’s
This place has rave reviews but it’s in Haarlem north, outside the city center. There’s no menu on the website but their Instagram page shows some vegetarian options.

Takeaways

  • Öz Ankara
This place makes THE best Turkish pizzas ever!! It’s a 20 min walk away but well worth it! Vegetarian option also available.
  • De Draak
This Chinese restaurant is just 5 mins walk away and has REALLY good Singapore noodles. You can also eat in the restaurant but it’s not such a great atmosphere and service is really slow. Otherwise pick up or delivery is available.
